Who we are
Polaris Opera is a small opera company based in Northampton with the aim of bringing opera and classical music to you, in your area, at an affordable price. We intend to perform opera in an accessible way while maintaining a high musical standard for our audiences. We also hope to provide opportunities to young and/or newly trained singers at the start of their careers and we are especially keen to hear from local singers.
We're glad to finally be back performing in person again this January to celebrate the new year in a feel-good New Year's Gala Concert where we'll be joined by a local ensemble.
Tickets must be pre-booked.
Ticket price includes a glass of fizz on arrival. There is an optional supper afterwards at 8:30pm with chef Danny Tompkins.
Polaris Opera would like to invite you to enjoy an evening of opera’s most romantic arias. From the joy of young love to doomed love affairs, we will celebrate the highs and lows of passionate love in a selection from the world’s favourite operas, songs and musicals including Puccini, Lehar, Bizet and Rodgers & Hammerstein. There will be something for the most hopeless romantic and the greatest cynic.
Featuring Jasmine Munns (Soprano), Andrew Powis (Tenor), Helen Appleton (Soprano) and Ian Riley (Piano).
Revised date for our New Year's Gala!
We will still be performing our light-hearted programme of popular opera, operetta and waltz music.
Featuring favourites by Puccini, Strauss, Lehar, Kalman and Offenbach.
To add to the celebratory atmosphere, we're delighted also to be joined by a special guest string ensemble led by Musical Director, Ian Riley.
Helen Appleton (Soprano), Karen Davies (Soprano), Andrew Powis (Tenor), and introducing Dan Woodhouse (Baritone).
